  • IFP Week is the place where industry insiders discover new talent and projects, featuring a curated selection of new documentaries in development from over 22 countries

  • As a volunteer, I had the opportunity to meet creators, financiers, distributors, producers, executives and festival programmers 

  • Ensured that over the 1500+ meetings that took place during the event ran smoothly and on-schedule

Syria's Tent Cities Documentary

  • Directed, Produced, Edited and Filmed 30 minute Documentary Film on educating Syrian Refugees and integrating them into host communities

  • Syria's Tent Cities has won 13 awards, including: London Independent Film Awards (Best Documentary Short), South Film And Arts Academy Festival (Best Documentary Short Film), Best Shorts Competition (Award of Merit), Cinema World Fest Awards (Best in Show, Best Documentary Short), International Independent Film Awards (Platinum Award), Los Angeles Film Awards (Best Documentary Short), Independent Shorts Awards (Gold Award for Best Documentary Short)

  • Semi-Finalist at the Directors Cut Int'l Film Festival

  • Selected to screen at the Studio City International Film Festival in California

  • Responsible for all pre-production, production and most of post production

  • Shot the film in Jordan, Lebanon and Canada

  • Booked interviews with Bassam Khawaja and Adam Coogle of Human Rights Watch in Lebanon and Jordan

  • Where Cultures Collide explores the intersection of Southern California's diversity through five short documentaries created in a collaboration between KCETLink and the Documentary Department at the New York Film Academy

  • Wrote and produced Zaffa Episode about the traditions in Middle Eastern weddings being brought over to California and practiced across different cultures. Booked all interviews, researched topics and interview questions, created crew call sheets, scouted all shooting locations and obtained filming permits

  • Associate Producer and Additional Camerawork on Polynesian Tattoo and Santeria episodes. Duties included researching interview questions and scouting talent to be featured in the episodes.

  • Travelled to different parts of Southern California to film the episodes

  • Directed, Produced and starred in a work-in-progress documentary about PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome), an ovarian disorder that affects 1 in 10 women and causes a hormonal imbalance with side effects such as increased facial and body hair and inability to conceive

  • Arranged interviews and worked with social media celebrity Little Bear the Bearded Lady

  • Set up interviews and worked with Instagram celebrity Chelsea Gabriella (@VSGchelsea)

  • Interview and worked with Bariatric Surgeon Mohammed Al-Zaben

  • Travelled to Seattle, Virginia and Saudi Arabia to shoot

  • Responsible for all pre-production, production and most of post production

  • DocuDay LA is IDA's annual all-day, back-to-back screening of the year's Oscar nominated documentary films

  • Duties included greeting filmmakers and guests, check in, seating and theater management, and venue set-up and breakdown.

  • As a volunteer at DocuDay, I had the opportunity to meet and network with award-nominated filmmakers and artists
